DESTINY was officially launched on January 1st, 2024!
On this occasion, the partners of the Horizon Europe DESTINY Joint Doctoral Network (DEsign and SusTainability Assessment of Innovative biomass production systems and value-chains in the BioecoNomY) met on the AgroParisTech campus (Palaiseau, France) and online on January 9th and 10th.
The coordinating team – AgroParisTech (Prof. Philippe Lescoat, Prof. Benoit Gabrielle, Elodie Popenda and Maëlle Bodiguel) – was particularly pleased to welcome the partners (under the snow!) and start working on the first steps of the project.
The DESTINY Joint Doctoral Network will train 15 Doctoral students into becoming a new generation of researchers. At the crossroads of bioeconomy and sustainable development science, these candidates will design sustainable bioeconomy systems for Europe, taking into account a number of disciplines ranging from agronomy to economics as well as political and social sciences. DESTINY graduates will fill a proven gap in the bioeconomy labour market and find employment in the agricultural and forestry sectors, the bioeconomy industry, academia, consultancies and public authorities.
